Shop fit outs, maintenance and conversions for business owners and investors.
Alongside homes, we take on light commercial work: shop fit outs, maintenance and conversions. Some clients have trusted us with both their commercial and their home properties for years.
Our biggest conversion was the historic Star Building in Papakura, the town’s first cinema. We rebuilt the whole internal structure, fitted out six apartments upstairs and three new shops downstairs, and renovated the two existing shops on the main street.

For business owners, developers and investors who care about the quality of their buildings.
New fit outs and refits for shops and business premises.
Old buildings turned to new uses, like the Papakura picture theatre we converted into apartments and shops.
Ongoing maintenance of commercial buildings, from repairs to new roof guttering.
Work to meet current fire, acoustic, earthquake and weathertightness requirements.
Mixed use buildings, like the six upmarket apartments above the shops in the Star Building.
We work alongside your architect and engineers to find cost effective solutions.
The historic Star Building kept its original 1920s exterior. It was one of the first buildings in South Auckland to be earthquake strengthened under the new laws.
The whole internal structure was rebuilt, with six upmarket apartments upstairs and three new shops downstairs.
The original windows were small, so Chris angled skylights into each room to bring a shaft of light into the space. The skylight supplier later came to see how he had done it.
We come back to fix anything under warranty and make sure sub-contractors and suppliers honour their warranties. Our commercial clients still call us for ongoing maintenance.
Another important difference with Heineke Builders has been their after sales service, which has been nothing short of excellent.
We have known Chris Heineke personally and as our shop fitter, constructor and maintainer of both our commercial and domestic properties for the last 10 years. His work is exemplary both in time and cost efficiency.
They often created very cost effective solutions with civil and acoustic engineering consultants.
Yes. Our Papakura client came to us on their architect’s recommendation, and on that project we worked with a range of consultants, including civil and acoustic engineers.
Most building work needs a building consent. We can tell you whether your project needs one or could be exempt.
With charge up you pay for the actual time and materials, but the final price is unknown. A fixed price gives you more certainty from the start and works best with a clear brief. Items that can’t be priced until work begins are marked clearly in the quote.
No. Halo is a residential guarantee, and its premium is not part of our quotes for commercial or small jobs. We still come back to fix anything under warranty.

Tell us what you have in mind and we will come back to you with an estimate.
