We do one off projects that need more care and communication than a standard house plan. We also take on smaller jobs, like decks and ensuites.
Architectural and first homes built to your design, your site and your budget. We help with selections if you want it.
Large renovations, additions and villa restorations, including the tricky parts of working inside an old structure.
Leaky home and weathertightness repairs, working alongside specialist engineers to put things right.
Shop fit outs, maintenance and conversions, like the old Papakura picture theatre we turned into apartments and shops.
This house was cut into six parts and moved 600 km to its new site at Clarks Beach. Today it has views over the water, timber ceilings, a carved hallway arch, a sweeping staircase and verandahs on both levels.

Chris started Heineke Builders in 1993. Today he and Catherine run the business from Bombay with a team of qualified builders, apprentices and an office team that looks after communication, project management and admin.
Many of our clients have worked with us more than once: on their family home, then an investment property, then the business. We think that says more than any advert can.
We also give back. Each year a portion of our profits goes to charity, and members of our team helped build a kindergarten playground for a small village in Fiji.
Our values come from over 33 years of building homes for families, investors and businesses.
We raise issues early and sort them out. Our advice on products and methods is in your interest.
Qualified tradespeople, and only sub-contractors who have proven they deliver to a high standard.
Our team keeps learning the latest building regulations, products and technology.
We come back to fix warranty issues and chase suppliers for you if a product fails.
The finish is what you live with every day. These are a few of ours.

Clear decisions made early keep your timeline and budget on track. Here is how a project with us runs.
Tell us what you have in mind. It is never too early to bring a builder in.
We work with your architect, spot costly design issues and tell you if you need building consent.
For your peace of mind, we explain the fixed price and charge up options, and any changes are priced before the work starts.
We send regular project management updates, so you know how your build and schedule are going every step of the way.
We are known for satisfied customers, a quality first approach and a builder who still answers the phone. After handover you have a 12 month defects notification period and an independent Halo 10 year guarantee.
Most of our work is in South Auckland, Franklin and North Waikato, close to our base. When time allows, we also build in Central, East and West Auckland, where many of our long standing clients live.

Papakura, Drury, Manurewa, Clevedon
Pukekohe, Bombay, Waiuku, Tuakau, Clarks Beach
Pōkeno, Mercer, Te Kauwhata
Also, when time allows: Central, East and West Auckland.
He’s an outstanding builder, reliable, fast and cost effective. And his work is top quality. I wouldn’t use any other builder for any work, large or small.
We had a large, leaky house in Waihi Beach which could have been such a stressful project, but wasn’t because of Chris’s determination to make sure we were kept well informed.
The builders and contractors were very professional, friendly and respectful of our property. We were extremely pleased with the final result.
Something else on your mind? Book a 15 minute call and ask us directly.
That depends on you. Some clients come with plans already drawn. Others like a builder’s input from the start, because an experienced builder can spot high costs or tricky details in a design early.
Most building work needs a consent. We can tell you whether your project needs one or could be exempt.
You do for restricted building work. That is any work that involves or affects:
As NZ Certified Builders members we can offer the Halo 10 year residential guarantee, one of the most complete 10 year guarantees on the market. It is run independently of NZCB, so your home stays covered even in the unlikely event that something happens to us or to NZCB. If you sell within 10 years, the guarantee moves to the new owner. The premium is included in most of our quotes, except small or commercial jobs, and we apply for it before work starts.
With charge up you pay for the actual time and materials, but the final price is unknown and can end up over budget. A fixed price gives you more certainty from the start. It works best for new builds and projects with a clear brief, where materials and fittings are already chosen. Even then, some items cannot be priced until work begins, like hidden rot in a wall during a renovation. We mark those clearly in the quote.
Keeping to a budget is a team effort. A clear brief from you and council consented plans from your architect let us price exactly what you want up front. Decisions made early mean fewer last minute changes and fewer delays getting trades or materials. If the scope changes, we price the change before we start on it, so you know what it costs.

Tell us about your project and we will come back with an estimate, or give Chris or Catherine a call.
